MANILA, Philippines—Calvin Oftana was extra emotional when TNT closed out Ginebra in Game 6 of the PBA Finals for its second straight Governors’ Cup championship.
While everyone jumped up and down in celebration as the confetti dropped on Friday night at Araneta Coliseum, Oftana was just overcome with emotion.
Article continues after this advertisement“This is my second but every championship is special. This one, though, I’ve been so emotional because there were lots of circumstances that happened in the team, inside and outside of the court,” Oftana told Inquirer Sports in Filipino.

I got emotional because getting this one wasn’t easy. There were runs where I doubted myself.”
Oftana didn’t have a spectacular performance but he did just enough to help Tropang Giga in their title-clinching win with eight points, four rebounds and three assists.
