A leaked email from Shark Tank famed startup company YesMadam has been making rounds of social media. Based on this emailrich711, the home salon startup allegedly fired employees who took part in a company survey and stated that they were stressed due to the workload.
The letter first went viral on LinkedIn where netizens were "appalled" that a company would fire employees for being "too stressed" rather than come to their aid.

"Recently, we conducted a survey to understand your feelings about stress at work. Many of you shared your concerns, which we deeply value and respect. As a company committed to fostering a healthy and supportive work environment, we have carefully considered the feedback. To ensure that no one remains stressed at work, we have made the difficult decision to part ways with employees who indicated significant stress. This decision is effective immediately, and impacted employees will receive further details separately. Thank you for your contributions," the leaked letter stated allegedly.
Following the virality of this letter, YesMadam issued an official statement dismissing the sudden layoffs.
Taking to social media, the startup company issued a clarification and stated that it did not fire any of its employees for being "too stressed".
"Let us be clear: We would never take such an inhuman step. Our team is like family, and their dedication, hard work, and passion are the foundation of all our successes. The social media posts were a planned effort to highlight the serious issue of workplace stress. And to those who shared angry comments or voiced strong opinions, we say Thank you," said the company.
As per the statement issued by YesMadam, the company offered its employees offs based on their answers to the work stress survey. Denying any layoffs, the startup company said that ``employees were encouraged to take a break to rest, relax, recharge and release their stress''.
While many responded to the news of layoffs at YesMadam with outrage, many netziens speculated if the leaked letter was part of a campaign being launched at the company.
One such user took to Linkedin and said that "this actually looks like a campaign that's going to backfire real bad sigh.'
'Hope this is not one of those publicity for the sake of it type of stuff,' another user added.
India's Work Stress EpidemicIn the past year, several instances of high work stress levels across India have been reported. With the death of an 26-year-old employee at EY Pune, questions over toxic workplaces and the high levels of stress pushed onto employees took centrestage.
As per a survey by MediBuddy and CIIrich711, around 62 percent of Indian employees experience burnout. This number stands at a triple of the global average of 20 percent.
